Campus Crosswalks

Portfolio : Campus Crosswalks

These decorative pedestrian pathways are made from a thermoplastic reflective material applied to the asphalt which provides a colorful, detailed, long-lasting surface at major campus intersections, specially formulated for high traffic applications.

The crosswalks not only provide safety, but also illustrate school pride and spirit and identify our campus distinctly from the rest of the downtown streets. The first phase of the Campus Crosswalks began in the fall of 2007 at the intersections of West Street and University Boulevard on New York Street, a main thoroughfare though campus. Subsequent phases will continue over the next few years at major intersections of Michigan Street as well as University Boulevard, adjacent to the Campus Center. The decorative crosswalks will also serve as a complement to the crosswalks and pathways created through campus as a phase of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn Glick, expected to be constructed in 2009.
